Hey all! My name is Julia, former college student and a home decor enthusiast who loves DIY home improvement projects and finding creative ways to decorate any living spaces on a budget. Recently moved from my dorm to my new apartment which I renovated from scratch and I am here to help you with tips & tricks about home decor/college and more 🙂
Summer’s almost here, and I’ve got the cutest DIY vase idea that’s perfect for showing off all those fresh blooms—whether you want to brighten up your garden or your living room.

Summer is right around the corner, and I don’t know about you, but I’m already dreaming about all the gorgeous flowers that are about to pop up everywhere.
So, I thought—why not get a little crafty and make a super cute vase that you can show off in your garden or right in your living room?
Here’s what you’ll need:

- An empty wine bottle (come on, I know you’ve got one left from the last celebration!)
- Some twine
- Wooden skewers
- A hot glue gun
- Dried flowers (or whatever little decorations you love)
Alright, let’s jump in! Grab that wine bottle and your wooden skewers. Lay the bottle down on its side and start adding hot glue.

Now, this part is a little fiddly, but just stick those skewers onto the bottle, trying to keep them as straight up as you can—think “marching soldiers.”

I find it helps to glue the first one right at the edge of the label so you have a little guide for the rest.
Once you’ve covered the whole bottle with skewers (don’t worry if they’re not all perfect, that’s part of the charm!), it’s time for the fun part—decorating!
Tie the skewers together tightly around the middle of the bottle.

This is where you get to add your dried flowers or any cute bits and bobs you have lying around. Just make sure everything feels nice and secure.
Now for the top: gather up the pointy ends of the skewers at the neck of the bottle and tie them up tight. Careful not to poke yourself—those skewers can be sneaky!

Wrap some twine around the top, glue it in place, and finish it off with a sweet little bow.
Ta-da!
Your DIY vase is ready to steal the show and bring those summer vibes wherever you put it.
Go on, give it a try, and have some fun with it!
