Must-Have Ingredients

banana bread recipe

First things first, let’s talk ingredients.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • For the banana bread:
    • 250g all-purpose flour
    • 150g granulated sugar
    • 100g brown sugar
    • 115g unsalted butter, softened
    • 2 large eggs
    • 4 ripe bananas, mashed (about 400g)
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
    • 60ml milk (or buttermilk for extra tang)

The Right Tools for the Job

Before we dive in, make sure you have these tools handy:

  • A large mixing bowl
  • A medium mixing bowl
  • A whisk
  • A spatula
  • A loaf pan (9×5 inches)
  • A fork (for mashing bananas)
  • A cooling rack

Preparation

Alright, let’s get this banana bread party started!

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease your loaf pan.

This will ensure your banana bread doesn’t stick and slides out easily once baked.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).

Set this aside for a bit.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and both sugars together until the mixture is light and fluffy.

This should take about 2-3 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Now, stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

The Art of Mashing Bananas

banana bread recipe

The key to perfect banana bread is using very ripe bananas.

The riper, the better!

They should be speckled and almost black.

Mash them up with a fork until they’re nice and smooth.

This will give your bread that wonderful banana flavor and moist texture.

If you have extra bananas, you can freeze them and thaw them out for your next baking session.

Your kitchen should already be smelling pretty amazing at this point!

Combining the Ingredients

banana bread recipe

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.

Start and end with the dry ingredients.

Mix just until combined; you don’t want to overmix the batter.

Overmixing can lead to a dense banana bread, and we want it to be nice and fluffy!

Pouring and Baking

Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Give the pan a little shake to even out the batter.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.

Cooling and Slicing

Once your banana bread is done baking, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.

Then, transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.

This step is crucial because it allows the bread to set and makes it easier to slice.

Plus, it gives you a chance to clean up your kitchen (or sneak a taste of the batter left in the bowl!).

Special Touches

Want to add a little extra flair?

Try mixing in some chopped nuts, like walnuts or pecans, for added crunch.

You can also add chocolate chips for a sweet twist.

For a tropical vibe, throw in some shredded coconut.

And if you’re feeling adventurous, swirl in a bit of Nutella or peanut butter before baking.

The possibilities are endless!

Serving and Storage

This banana bread is best enjoyed fresh, but it also stores well.

Once it’s completely cooled, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil.

It will stay fresh at room temperature for up to 3 days.

If you want to keep it longer, store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.

You can also freeze it! Wrap slices individually and store them in a freezer-safe bag.

Just thaw and warm up a slice whenever you’re craving a quick treat.

And there you have it!

The most delicious, moist, and irresistible banana bread you’ll ever make.

Enjoy every bite and don’t forget to share the love (and the recipe) with your friends!

Happy baking!

Banana Bread Recipe Easy

A banana bread recipe is a delicious way to use up overripe bananas and create a moist, flavorful loaf. With simple ingredients like bananas, flour, sugar, and eggs, it’s an easy and satisfying baking project. Perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert, banana bread is loved for its sweet, comforting taste.

  • Total Time: 75-90min
  • Yield: 10–12 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 115g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed (about 400g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 60ml milk (or buttermilk for extra tang)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside for later.

  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes using an electric mixer.

  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

  5. Mash Bananas: In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Make sure there are no large lumps.

  6. Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the mashed bananas and milk to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix until well combined. The mixture may look slightly curdled, but that’s okay.

  7. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the bread dense.

  8. Add Optional Mix-Ins: If you’re using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them into the batter gently with a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

  9. Pour Batter into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly. Give the pan a gentle tap on the counter to remove any air bubbles.

  10. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil halfway through baking.

  11. Cool: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely. This will help the bread set and make it easier to slice.

Notes

  1. Banana Ripeness is Key: For the best flavor and texture, make sure to use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bread will be. If your bananas aren’t ripe enough, you can speed up the ripening process by placing them in a paper bag with an apple or by baking them in a 150°C (300°F) oven for about 15-20 minutes until the skins turn black.

  2. Customize to Your Taste: This banana bread recipe is incredibly versatile and can be easily customized to suit your preferences. Feel free to add a handful of your favorite mix-ins like dried fruits, shredded coconut, or even a swirl of peanut butter. You can also experiment with different spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom to give your banana bread a unique twist. Don’t be afraid to get creative and make this recipe your own!

If you know.. you know 😂🥲 Everyone loves to talk If you know.. you know 😂🥲

Everyone loves to talk about the exciting parts of building or renovating a home—the mood boards, the beautiful finishes, and the dream of seeing it all come together. What people don’t talk about nearly enough are the endless decisions, unexpected surprises, and those moments when you find yourself wondering why choosing a simple light fixture suddenly feels like a life-changing event.

The truth is, this journey can test your patience more often than you’d like. But somehow, between the dust, delays, and daily challenges, there’s also a lot of excitement, laughter, and pride.

So we keep going. Because at the end of the day, every choice, every setback, and every little victory is part of creating a home filled with love. And that makes all the chaos worth it. 🤍

And somehow, it’s even more beautiful when those dreams are shared… when there’s someone beside you, looking in the same direction, building the same future 🤍

What started as a simple green field, scattered with bushes, is slowly turning into something so much bigger—our home. A two-story house, a beautiful roof, and that veranda we’ve been dreaming about for the past two years… it’s all becoming real, step by step.

And the truth is, none of this would mean the same without the right person by your side. The right team changes everything.

This one is for you. For the man who refuses to stop, no matter the obstacles, and who keeps pushing forward to turn our dreams into reality.

Thank you, my love 🖇️
